Shanita Burgess, LPC-A, NCC

Hello, I am so glad you are here! Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself and get the formalities out of the way. My name is Shanita and I am a graduate of Columbia College where I received my B.A. in Psychology and Winthrop University where I received my M.Ed. in Counseling and Development. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends, playing with other peoples pets, and trying out new restaurants as eating is my favorite pastime.

I love working with women to navigate complicated belief patterns, emotions, and behaviors. Some concerns I assist with include; depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, and thoughts and feelings related to trauma. I also enjoy assisting people work through LGBT topics, multicultural issues, low motivation, and thoughts of death. I would be more than happy to speak with you to answer any questions about what to expect from therapy, any insurance questions, and what I could offer you.

I'm so excited that you're here! Wanting change is really hard and finding a good fit can be even more difficult, not to mention scary. This is why I offer free consultations at no cost or risk to you in order for us to meet and figure out if I'm the best person to work with you.
